The Estin Company has been helping people buy and sell cemetery property since 1986. Our goal is to treat each customer like family by providing friendly, personal service and a stress free experience. 

​It all started when Mel Estin, a cemetery broker, encouraged his wife Sue and former co-worker Phil Cox to launch a new venture together.

​Sue Estin had spent more than a decade working in the interment office at Rose Hills Memorial Park in Whittier, California and was ready for a change. Her warm personality and attention to detail made her a top-notch broker and is one of the reasons The Estin Company earns so much repeat business.

Cristi Thatcher started working at The Estin Company while a student at California State University, Northridge. Her on-the-job experience and grasp of the business allowed her to earn her license quickly and start helping customers.

Tim Thatcher joined the company in 2018 and represents a third generation of the family business. (He calls the boss “Grandma.”)  In spite of his relative youth, he understands that Estin customers require both empathy and efficiency. Tim was granted his cemetery broker license by the California Cemetery and Funeral Bureau.

​The Estin Company is a member of the California Funeral Directors Association and the Los Angeles County Funeral Directors Association.

In memoriam

Like all of The Estin Company’s customers, we have lost loved ones. These men are greatly missed.

​Phil Cox was born and raised in the San Fernando Valley, and graduated from Birmingham High School. He worked in retail and as a manufacturer’s representative before finding his calling in cemetery property resales. He passed away in 2018.

Mel Estin became a licensed cemetery broker in 1968 and provided The Estin Company with many years of advice and guidance. He passed away in 2013.
